How many chickens will you need to contribute your X amount of eggs?

Will you need a chicken coop or a chicken hutch?

Will you buy your coop/hutch, or make your own?

Where to site you chickens?

Will the chickens fit in with the rest of your "Yard"?

This report will address the question: how many eggs will you need for your family.

Well if we look at the question of " how many eggs does one person eat in a week?" we, or rather you will know how many eggs you will need for your family.

Eggs are an perfect source of protein, iodine and vitamins such as D and B2. Eggs can be eaten poached / boiled eggs/scrambled or fried although the first three choices are a healthier one, because you don't need to add fat when cooking. Eggs can also be used for cooking or added to other foods such as cakes or noodles. Hard-boiled eggs can be stored for future uses by pickle them.

So you see you could eat as many eggs in a week as one hen can lay in a week and if you find that you have too many eggs you can all the time sell them.

This brings us to the question: how many eggs will one chicken lay in a week? Well, it does depend a bit on the breed but in the main a chicken will take 24 to 26 hours to lay an egg and then she will rest for about half an hour before the hen starts to "make" other egg.

Well, with all that said and with the variations in the breeds and ages of the chickens you can expect 6 eggs a week or 270 eggs a year from one chicken.

So, in respond to the question: How many chickens do you need for your family? The respond is: Keep one chicken for one person.

www.facebook.com The aim of the challenge: to not get the unboiled egg(s) smashed onto your head. So, we saw this on Celebrity Juice, and it looked seriously fun to do... and here we are! We originally filmed this with Danny Wales but unfortunately we used a different camera and i need a codec that i didn't have. So, we had to do the whole thing again, but this time Danny was busy, so we did it without him. Yes, the chicken heads look fabulous.
